RAMS is directed by the general board, consisting of five medical students. As board of the foundation they frequently meet to make sure all activities of RAMS run smoothly. Moreover, they are in close contact with the supervisory board and the editorial staff. If you have any questions on general, promotional or financial subjects, you can contact the general board of RAMS via the Email addresses under the names.
RAMS is proud to present you the board of the academic year 2018-2019!
Chair – Emily Aupers
Hello and a warm welcome from the board members of this academic year.
My name is Emily Aupers and I am currently a sixth-year medical student at the Radboud University of Nijmegen. After joining RAMS in 2017 to be a member of the RAMS Summer School committee and loving it so much, I decided to become general board member. As Chair of RAMS, I am mainly responsible for providing leadership to the general and editorial Board, ensuring that all the members fulfill their responsibilities, and of course acting as the public face of RAMS. In the position of Chair I hope to further develop my skills in organisation and leadership, as well as to accomplish a great academic year for RAMS with my fellow board members. My personal goal for this year is to make RAMS more well-known, not only among the students, but also the staff members of the Radboudumc, among medical students throughout the Netherlands, and hopefully even internationally. If you have any questions or have interest in writing for or publishing in RAMS, don’t
hesitate to mail us.
My name is Leonhard Neumann and currently I am doing the pre-master’s program for Medicine. After planning and organising last year’s masterclasses for RAMS, I am currently fulfilling the position of Vice Chair of RAMS for this academic year. I will also be responsible for this year’s masterclasses. Furthermore, I will organise networking events for RAMS members and students who want to get in touch with RAMS and, lastly, I support our Chair where needed.
My personal goal for this year is to ensure that students can attend a high-quality masterclass and to make these as interactive as possible, to hopefully make the masterclasses well visited and a more inherent part of RAMS’ educational events. Furthermore, I will try to make the networking events as accessible as possible to guarantee an approachable manner of contacting the organisation, as well as expanding social networks of both RAMS members and scientifically interested students.
See you around!
Treasurer – Rahima Lakanwal
Hey everyone! My name is Rahima Lakanwal, and I am a third-year medical student. I am glad to tell you that I am the current treasurer of RAMS. As treasurer I am responsible for the financial affairs. At the beginning of the year I made a budget estimate which applies to this academic year. In doing so, I have to ensure that no more is spent than is budgeted for. I also work within the masterclass committee, to once again set up a successful masterclass series this year. My goal is to keep the finances in good order and transparent so that we have enough financial support for even more great activities for RAMS to organise!
Hi everyone! I am Lisanne Houtappels, currently enrolled in my third year of medical school and working as board member Public Relations of RAMS. This makes me responsible for promoting RAMS, sending the newsletter every two months, maintaining our website and keeping our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages up-to-date. Furthermore, I work together with the symposium committee to organise a fantastic symposium this year! My personal goal for this year is to gain more awareness among students and staff members of the Radboudumc about the possibility for students to publish their articles in RAMS. I am looking forward to welcoming you at our symposia and ofcourse our other activities!
Dear reader, my name is Jurre Kuipers and I am currently enrolled in the third year of medical school and I am the board member Education of RAMS for this academic year. This year, I am mainly focussing on trying to integrate RAMS into the current educational program of the medical faculty. Furthermore, I want to broaden the reach of RAMS by cooperating with different faculties or with different lecturers and students. If you have any questions about what I do or about publishing an article within RAMS, you can always send me an email.
