Study load
Before the Summer School will commence, students will be given preparatory assignments which will take up approximately 30 hours of time to work on.
The Summer School consists of a general program in which the students will get a better and deeper understanding of the different aspects of Cardiology. The lectures will not only give you a better understanding of the basics of Cardiology (such as cardiac anatomy and physiology), they will also introduce you to topics and techniques specific to the specialisation of Cardiology, such as performing and interpreting echocardiography, interventional Cardiology, etc. We will also be practicing dissection skills and surgical techniques in practical workshops highlighting Cardiothoracic Surgery and Pediatric Cardiology.
Besides the general program students are offered modules in which the students will be split into groups to go in depth on a specific topic assigned to the group. They will get acquainted with the subject of the module and will receive a group assignment. This group assignment will be due on Friday when students will give their final presentation.
Information about the modules will be given after official acceptance to the Summer School. Students will choose a module of their interest and will be assigned to a module before the beginning of the Summer School. Being assigned to the module of interest unfortunately cannot be guaranteed.
